Only 2 weeks to go, #sotn18 programme at a glance

Only two weeks to go before State of the Net 2018 at Molo IV in Trieste: if you haven’t already, it’s time to get your tickets (it’s free!). While we are still hard at work and things are in continuous evolution, we are happy to share with you some details about this year’s programme.

On Thursday 14th we will begin at 2pm with the Italian side of the programme. Developed in collaboration with our co-organising partner Insiel, we will explore together with some industry leaders different forms of collaboration between public and private sectors. We will discuss digital governance with Enrico Cereda (IBM), Cristiano Cannarsa (Consip), Andrea Di Maio (Gartner) and Simone Puksic (Insiel), immediately followed by a panel on guiding innovation with Marco Icardi (Sas), Roberto Siagri (Eurotech), Greta Nasi (Bocconi), Agostino Santoni (Cisco) and Stefano Venturi (Hewlett-Packard).

We will continue discussing the challenges of e-procurement with Cristiano Cannarsa (Consip) and Filippo Ligresti (Dell EMC), and finally will follow with a discussion around the development of private/public partnerships with Andrea Quacivi (Sogei), Marco Gay (Anitec-Assinform, Digital Magics) and Mariano Corso (Polimi).

The grand finale of the day will be a keynote from Luigi Zingales, Professor at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

On Friday 15th we will begin bright and early with our English programme. Luca De Biase will be opening the discussion, followed by the unveiling of the results of a poll run by SWG for SotN about Italian’s perception of digital life and a presentation about digital innovation in the next five years by IBM. We have no doubt that the subsequent keynotes by Hossein Derakhshan and Ton Zijlstra will inspire you.

After lunch, Amazon’s Vice President for Europe, Roy Perticucci, will talk about the challenges (and consequences) of today’s logistics, while Gigi Tagliapietra will help us reflect about where we come from and where we are heading. A conversation between Dave Winer and Anna Masera will tackle the challenges of today’s information landscape.

Finally Lorenza Baroncelli will tell us about the consequences of innovation in our cities, and with her speech Adriana Lukas will talk about freedom from consequences.

We are all looking forward to meeting you in Trieste next June, but if you really can’t make it, you will be able to follow all session streaming live on our social media channels (but you will miss the weather, the sea, the food and the amazing company…).
