Assistant Professor at the School for Advanced Studies in Lucca (Italy), Walter is the coordinator of the CSSLab. His research interests include dynamical processes on complex networks, graph algorithms with a special focus on computational social science. Recently his research has focused on the information diffusion in online social network platforms and their relation with the opinion evolution. From 2007 to 2010 he worked at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies of the Italian National Research Council. In 2012 he worked Northeastern University as Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Mobs Lab of Alessandro Vespignani. He serves as teacher and/or collaborator in courses on Algorithms, Programming, Distributed Computing, Social Networks for graduate and undergraduate students. Walter holds a Master’s Degree in Computer Science at University of Parma and a PhD in Logic and Computer Science at the University of Siena. He has published more than 30 peer-reviewed scientific papers.
